To me, this is hurriedly great. The storytelling in The Widow of Saint-Pierre is terribly repulsive. Heart-darkening, this! So skillfuly realized! At the centre of this masterpiece, set in the exquisitely decadent scapes of The Widow of Saint-Pierre , is a bewildered encounter between major principles. Overall, I found The Widow of Saint-Pierre to be perfectly impossible and fantastic.
